TITLE: Material Storage Supervisor 2

SALARY: $53,680.00 starting annual salary

The Connecticut Lottery Corporation, a quasi-public entity, is currently recruiting for a Material Storage Supervisor 2 within our warehouse located in Rocky Hill. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this positon will be responsible for all personnel and warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, storing, inventorying, inspecting and order packaging.

Responsibilities include the following: Schedules, assigns, oversees and reviews the work of staff; provides staff training and assistance; conducts performance evaluations; determines priorities and plans unit work; establishes and maintains unit procedures; acts as liaison with other departments and outside vendors; prepares reports and correspondence; conducts record keeping, inventory control, requisitioning, purchasing, expediting, etc.; supervises the receiving, quality and quantity inspection of all incoming supplies; verifies shipments with vendors to expedite deliveries and to process the return of unacceptable materials and supplies; supervises the locating and method of storing of materials and supplies; responsible for the sanitation, housekeeping, and security of storage areas and the maintenance and safety inspection of allied equipment; enters data into a computer; oversees courier services; performs related duties as required.

Candidates must have a minimum of four (4) years of experience in stock or warehouse work. Two (2) years must have involved the full range of warehouse duties, including shipping, receiving, storing, issuing, inventorying, inspecting, and securing materials. College training may be substituted for experience subject to applicable rules. Candidates must have considerable knowledge of modern principles and practices of efficient warehousing including purchasing; considerable knowledge of modern techniques of stock record and inventory control; considerable knowledge of relevant agency policies and procedures; considerable knowledge of relevant state and federal laws, statutes and regulations; interpersonal skills; oral and written communication skills; ability to analyze and forecast requirements and plan maximum turnover rates; ability to utilize computer software; supervisory ability.

The successful candidate will be required to obtain and retain appropriate licenses, permits and/or certifications, including a forklift operating license; must accept assignment to emergency duties, including snow and ice removal, whenever their services are required; must have adequate physical strength, stamina, physical agility and visual and auditory acuity, and must maintain such physical fitness as to be able to perform the duties; must be required to lift moderate to heavy weights; may be exposed to weather conditions and may be required to handle hazardous materials/chemicals.
