I am experimenting with a different way to comment on the news.  Instead of a “blog” or “wall”, my comments will just be attached to the news story, preceded by a “PGRI Note:”   My thought would be to give this a try for a couple weeks and see which format makes more sense, and is better for our readers.  Feel free to let me know if you have a preference.

PGRI Note:  The World Economic Forum in Davos just concluded.  The consensus is that there is a markedly different spirit of optimism than there was at the meeting last year.  For one thing, there is relief that the Euro currency didn’t collapse.  Global macro-economic problems persist, some even appearing to be intractable, but at least they are not threatening us with imminent economic crises. Lottery has weathered the challenges of the previous years much better than almost any other industry.  If the spirit of Davos Forum is reflected in rising consumer optimism, now is the time to really step on the gas.  The gaming, gambling, and lottery industries are undergoing seismic changes and we need to act now to ensure that the beneficiaries of lottery funding benefit by those changes.
